Samsung Electronics has unveiled the integration of Apple AirPlay with its Samsung Hospitality TV lineup, providing hotel guests a seamless way to connect their iOS and iPadOS devices to in-room televisions.
This new functionality allows guests to enjoy their favorite shows and movies from popular streaming services, listen to personal playlists, view photos, practice presentations, play games, and more on the room’s TV. By scanning an on-screen QR code, guests can connect their iPhone or iPad to the Samsung Hospitality TV quickly and securely.
The feature ensures both convenience and strong security; no personal data is stored, and all information about paired devices is erased automatically upon checkout. This enhancement not only improves the guest experience but also ensures data privacy. Additionally, hotel managers can easily update their systems to activate AirPlay technology, making the integration process straightforward.
The addition of Apple AirPlay is part of Samsung’s broader strategy to elevate the in-room experience for hotel guests while offering powerful management tools for hotel operators. The latest Samsung hospitality TVs come equipped with LYNK Cloud and SmartThings Pro, providing enhanced connectivity, streamlined management, and an improved guest experience.
“Samsung is committed to building a robust and connected ecosystem that enhances convenience, usability, and overall guest experience,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “AirPlay allows both iPhone and iPad users to easily share their favourite content on the big screen in their hotel room, making their temporary stay at a hotel feel more like home. LYNK Cloud and SmartThings Pro also give hotel management better business insights while making their operations more seamless and efficient.”
For hotel managers and operators, LYNK Cloud is a comprehensive cloud solution for Samsung Hospitality TVs that offers customizable content, remote device management, and access to OTT entertainment. It includes an e-commerce platform that allows guests to book hotel services, order room service, and use a digital concierge, all within the same system.
LYNK Cloud also enables hotel managers to personalize content and experiences for guests and create impactful promotional content across various rooms or properties globally.
SmartThings Pro enhances connectivity for hotel managers, offering better interoperability and security with IoT devices throughout the property. Hotel IT managers can connect and control Samsung smart devices, such as Hospitality TVs, Smart Signage, air conditioning systems, and other IoT devices, through one efficient dashboard.
The SmartThings Pro Dashboard supports multi-unit management and device performance monitoring, designed for scalability and developer-friendly integration. To meet the diverse needs of hotel partners, SmartThings Pro also offers customizable Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for seamless integration with existing systems and a customizable dashboard.
