Britam Uganda has launched the Britam Easy Earner Dollar Fund, designed to offer a stable, low-risk investment opportunity for Ugandan individuals and businesses that earn or transact in US dollars, and seek to invest in US dollar-denominated assets.
Through this fund, these entities can manage their dollar-based assets more effectively and potentially benefit from the stability and growth of the US dollar.
The Britam Easy Earner Dollar Fund is further suitable for Ugandan investors, including those in the diaspora, who seek steady returns, capital preservation, and high liquidity.
Speaking at the launch, Ronald kasolo, CFA General Manager of Britam Asset Managers, said, “We are excited to introduce Britam Easy Earner Dollar, which aligns with Britam’s mission to provide secure and innovative investment solutions.”

Vernon M. Kihuguru, Investment Manager at Britam Uganda, emphasized the numerous benefits for Ugandans, both domestically and in the diaspora. Kihuguru highlighted how investing in US dollar-denominated assets can help individuals preserve their wealth while also contributing to the growth of the national economy.

Denis Kizito from the Capital Markets Authority added to the discussion, explaining that money market funds, like the Britam Easy Earner Dollar Fund, offer a strong short-term investment solution compared to equity funds. Kizito emphasized the flexibility and low-risk nature of money market funds, making them ideal for investors seeking a stable and reliable investment option.
The minimum initial investment for the Britam Easy Earner Dollar is set at USD 5,000. Additionally, the fund allows for subsequent top-ups in increments of USD 2,000 or more, providing investors with the opportunity to increase their investment over time.
One of the key advantages of the Britam Easy Earner Dollar Fund is its tax-exempt status. This means that investors are not subject to any capital gains tax on the returns generated by the fund.
